About

This page is for those who are curious about me, myself, and I as a writer. I’ve had many passing ‘careers’ over the last 25 years, but the one thing I’ve always done through it all is write. In fact, my motto on life, and any and all experience, is ‘It’ll give me something to write about.’ So, when a work function goes off the rails, I focused on telling a funny story about how so and so in billing who moonlights as a party stripper and isn’t it funny that they were accidentally called to perform this function at their day job? Who was asleep on the job when that booking came through? Then there was the time when the train my friend and I booked to take us from France to Italy turned into a nightmare ride with the conductor threatening to leave us at the next stop in the middle of nowhere, at 2am, if we couldn’t produce a valid ticket. Eventually, there was humor and a sense of romance to be found in it and I wrote about a harrowing travel tale full of menacing but weirdly handsome Italian police officers who boarded the train to see what the commotion was all about. Spoiler alert: one of the young beautiful ingenues with the ticket problem meets the love of her life and moves to Italy a month later.

I think what I’m trying to say is I love to write. I write about my life on 5 acres of paradise in Western Washington, where I live with my husband, two rescue horses, and three rescue kitties, an erstwhile herd of whitetail deer, lots of bunnies, and the occasional bobcat or bear. I write fiction in the form of mystery and intrigue, as well as the occasional romance story with a side of thriller. Currently, I’m working on a series about a young, sassy P.I. who’s starting fresh in our nation’s Capital.

The specs ~ I am a Finnish transplant and have lived in WA since 2011 with my husband. I’ve got a master’s degree in criminal justice and a B.S. in psychology. Those two come in handy when I’m crafting my next murder mystery. I love writing fiction but have been known to dabble in nonfiction as well. I also do copyediting for a local non-profit on a volunteer basis, which I find incredibly rewarding. When I’m not writing, I’m at yoga, wandering outside with the animals and smelling the trees, cooking some new weird recipe, or reading one of the hundreds of books on my to-read list. Email me with any questions or projects that you might need help with. I work on a freelance basis.
